2023 PHA High-Power Matches

22 April 22, 27 May, 24 June, 22 July,
26 August, 23 September, 28 October.

There will be a Vintage/Modern Military Match fired after the High-Power match on 26 August. Course of fire at the bottom of this link.

Eligibility:  Competition is open to all

Entry Fees:   PHA Members…………..$15.00
                         Non-Members…………..$18.00
                         Juniors…………………...$10.00

                         (Special note: All juniors shoot their first match of the                                year free)

 

Entries:  Accepted from 0815 until the safety briefing

Start Time:  The first relay will be called to the line at 0900. Gate opens at 0645

Note: PHA rules state that competitors for any club match must be present for the safety briefing. Failure to arrive in time to attend the briefing (approximately 0845) will result in not being allowed to participate in the match.

Gate Entry:   PHA has a new electric gate entry. Competitors who are not PHA members will need to check the PHA website under the High Power drop-down or contact Match Director on web site for the entry code. The code will only be good from 0645 to 0859 on match days. The code will be the same throughout the year. Any change will be noted on the website.

Firing:   Current NRA HP Rifle Rules will govern the match. Competitors will score targets, but not their own. All firing will be from 200 yds and walk and paste.

Match schedule and conditions:   The course of fire will be 50 rounds fired at 200 yards using NRA approved targets to simulate National Match Course. Sighters will be fired during the sight-in period before the first stage of the match for each relay. The match will be an unsquaded, individual match, fired at stationary targets. Rifles must conform to all NRA rules (3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, and 3.3) for High Power Matches for Service rifles, match rifles, and all other rifles currently accepted by NRA Rules. The match on 28 October will be the Club Championship, with an 800 aggregate of 20 rounds at each stage.

Stage 1:                 10 rds slow fire standing in 10 minutes (SR target)
Stage 2:                 10 rds rapid fire sitting in 60 seconds (SR target)
Stage 3:                 10 rds rapid fire prone in 70 seconds (SR-42 target)
Stage 4:                 20 rds slow fire prone in 20 minutes (MR-52 target)

                                Note:  The block time will be used for the prep                                                            period and firing for record during SF stages 

Classification:  NRA classification system will be used (Section 19)

Awards:  Awards will be Certificates given to the Match winner and winner of each classification having a minimum of four competitors. Additional awards may be presented at the Match Director's discretion based on the number of competitors and other factors.
