PHA HIGH POWER MATCH ANNOUNCEMENT

VINTAGE MILITARY MATCH

          PHA will again have a Vintage Military Rifle match to be held on 27 Nov 2021. The match will consist of 30 rds fired at 200 yds from 3 positions. Vintage rifles are those which meet the CMP’s definition and rules. (See the CMP website for more information)  We will shoot 10 rds prone (slow fire- 10 minutes), 10rds prone (rapid fire- 70 seconds), and 10 rds standing offhand (slow fire- 10 minutes). Competitors may fire up to 5 rds for sighters (any position) using an 18-minute block time combining sighter time (5 min), prep period (3 min), and time for shots for record 10 min) during the off hand (1^st stage) firing sequence.

Course of fire may be shot twice, and competitors may use the same rifle or change to a different one. Modern rifles are allowed but preference on the firing line is given to vintage rifles. We will also allow .22 rifles to be fired, if the competitor has the rifle sighted in and the impact area is being hit. Safety is paramount and competitors who are not hitting the impact area will be removed from the line.

In the case that there are more than 10 competitors, there will be additional relays, so that our time of completion may be a little later than normal.

Gate will open NLT 0800 and range set-up as soon as possible. Safety briefing will be at 0845 or as soon as range set-up is completed. SAFETY BRIEFING IS MANDATORY FOR ALL SHOOTERS.

We plan to have additional vintage matches in Feb and March, and January depending on interest and weather. Announcements will be on PHA web site.
